Refund Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This Refund Policy explains when and how you can receive a refund for the Committo Pro membership. It supplements our Terms of Service and does not affect your statutory consumer rights in any way.
1. Who issues the refund?
Committo Pro can be purchased in three places. Who processes your payment — and who executes a refund — depends on where you bought:
- committo.app (web): Payments are processed by Stripe acting as Merchant of Record (MoR). The payment contract is formed between you and Stripe. Stripe executes refunds to your original payment method once we (Daniel Lebe Softwareentwicklung) approve them.
- Apple App Store: Your purchase is made through Apple. Apple processes the payment and decides alone on refunds of App Store purchases — we cannot issue these ourselves.
- Google Play: Your purchase is made through Google. Refunds are governed by the Google Play refund policies.
Your receipt or order confirmation names the merchant responsible for your specific purchase.
2. Your 14-day right of withdrawal (EU)
If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you have the right under §§ 355, 356 BGB to withdraw from the Pro membership contract within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving any reason. It does not expire early through your immediate use of the service; details are set out in Section 7 of our Terms of Service. You declare the withdrawal to the merchant of your purchase channel (Section 1); for purchases on committo.app a message to us is also sufficient (Section 4).
3. What we do not refund
Beyond your statutory rights, we do not offer voluntary refunds. In particular, we do not refund:
- ongoing monthly or annual billing periods where you cancel only during the period (access remains available until the end of the period);
- pro-rata amounts for unused days within an ongoing billing cycle;
- cases in which the contract has been terminated for cause due to a breach of our Terms of Service.
Your statutory rights — in particular the 14-day right of withdrawal under §§ 355, 356 BGB and the warranty for digital products under §§ 327 et seq. BGB — remain expressly unaffected.
4. How to request a refund
- Purchased on committo.app: Send an informal email to hello@committo.app including the email address of your Committo account and the date of purchase. We typically reply within 2 business days; the payout is executed by Stripe.
- Purchased in the Apple App Store: Submit your request directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple alone decides on App Store refunds.
- Purchased via Google Play: Use Google Play's refund flow (instructions). Questions? We're happy to help at hello@committo.app.
5. Processing and credit
- Payment method. Refunds are always issued to the original payment method.
- Timing. For purchases on committo.app, Stripe executes the refund immediately after our approval; depending on your bank or card issuer, the credit typically appears within 5–10 business days. For store purchases, Apple or Google determine the process and timeline.
- VAT. As Merchant of Record, the respective merchant simultaneously reverses the VAT / sales tax included in your purchase. An updated invoice or credit note is issued by that merchant.
- Pro access. Upon refund your account is downgraded to the Free tier; data you have already created (commitments, check-ins, pacts) remains intact.
